The project involved retrofitting servo-controlled drive systems for
both feed of the carriage table and grinding head.
The existing bed and carriage was machined for machine tool
skates and rails, with a rack and pinion drive. Spindle adjustment
mechanism was re-designed to incorporate adjustment by
electronic handwheel and automatic feed.
